The Iranian delegation has left the negotiation venue in Switzerland and returned to its residence, staging a walkout in protest against threats made by US President Donald Trump.

Iranian state television quoted a member of the negotiating team who asserted that no other files can be negotiated until the situation in Lebanon is fully resolved. Concurrently, the Tasnim News Agency reported, citing a source close to the Iranian negotiating team, that the delegation walked out of the talks at the Bürgenstock resort specifically to protest Trump's hostile rhetoric.

Prior to the walkout, a 90-minute trilateral meeting was held between Iran, the United States, and Qatar at the Bürgenstock Hotel. The session focused on securing a comprehensive ceasefire in Lebanon and addressing the unfreezing of Iranian assets, as part of ongoing efforts to follow up on the implementation of commitments outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Throughout the day, members of the Iranian delegation held separate meetings with mediators to review US commitments under the Islamabad agreement and evaluate the progress of Iran’s own obligations. These sessions also coordinated necessary steps to address Washington's non-compliance with certain clauses of the accord.

Before the disruption, the Iranian delegation held a closed-door consultative session in preparation for a second direct meeting with the American team. Additionally, a brief sideline discussion took place outside the negotiation headquarters between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, alongside a private closed-door meeting between the Iranian team and the Qatari mediator.

Ahead of the delegation's arrival, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the true value of any agreement is determined during its implementation phase. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran would strictly pursue the precise fulfillment of commitments, given the other party's historical record of non-compliance.

Baghaei also stressed that commencing negotiations for a final agreement remains strictly contingent upon the execution of key clauses within the initial memorandum of understanding—specifically clauses 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11—which Tehran maintains have not yet been fully implemented.

From the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the most critical demands at this stage include bringing an end to regional conflicts—particularly in Lebanon—mitigating the impact of economic sanctions, and ensuring the withdrawal of US forces from areas bordering Iran. Tehran has further indicated that the continuous Israeli attacks on Lebanon serve as a primary indicator of Washington's actual commitment to its obligations.
