The military spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, extended his salutations to the heroes of the brotherly Syrian people who rose up with simple means to confront the Zionist enemy forces in the village of Abdeen in southern Syria, refusing to submit or accept the aggression and the Zionist occupation of their land.

In a brief statement, Abu Obeida said: "The Zionist aggression on Syria is an extension of the aggression against Palestine, Lebanon, and the peoples of the nation. It is an attempt to implement the malicious 'Greater Israel' project and impose new realities at the expense of our peoples and countries. It is imperative for our nation, across all its peoples and factions, to strangle this myth in its cradle and thwart it before it is too late."

Zionist enemy forces had targeted the village of Abdeen and its surroundings in the western countryside of Daraa with artillery shells and heavy machine-gun fire from helicopters, amid a limited displacement of residents to surrounding towns and villages.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the Zionist shelling caused material damage to the location and surrounding agricultural lands, without any information regarding human casualties, while Zionist warplanes and helicopters continued to fly over the countrysides of Daraa and Quneitra.

According to SANA, Zionist military vehicles had intruded into the village of Abdeen on Sunday, advancing from the Al-Jazeera barracks. This prompted the local residents to close off the roads leading into the village with stones to prevent the Zionist enemy forces from encroaching inside again. This occurred in parallel with enemy forces opening fire toward the residents and launching flare bombs into the skies of the Yarmouk Basin before withdrawing.

Enemy forces had previously withdrawn from Tal al-Mughr, west of Abdeen village, after setting up tents there in the early morning hours of Sunday.

This escalation falls within the framework of the continuous assaults and violations carried out by the Zionist enemy forces in southern Syria. Over the past few days, these actions have included repeated incursions into several villages in the countrysides of Daraa and Quneitra, the establishment of military checkpoints, the searching of civilians, and the firing of live ammunition and shells—all in violation of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement and international law.
