The Al-Quds Governorate asserted that the killing of 15-year-old Amir Ahmad Jawad Jaber, who was shot by Zionist enemy forces during their raid on the Umm al-Sharayet neighborhood in the city of Al-Bireh, constitutes an extension of the daily series of killings and field executions committed by the usurping entity against the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued today, Monday, the Governorate explained that the martyrdom of the child Jaber, who held a "Jerusalem identity card", raised the number of martyrs documented by the Governorate since the beginning of 2026 to 11. Among them are two workers martyred near the town of Al-Ram, and three who were martyred after being shot by colonial settlers.
The Governorate emphasized that treating the crimes of field executions and their martyrs as mere numbers in statistical reports, without taking deterrent international action, encourages the Zionist enemy to continue its policy of systematic killing against Palestinians, especially children.
It added that this new crime confirms the conclusions of the report issued a week ago by the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry regarding the deliberate targeting of Palestinian children in the occupied Palestinian territory since October 7, 2023. The UN report documented with evidence the scale of crimes and violations committed by Zionist enemy forces and settlers against Palestinian children—constituting a grave violation of international law that amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity, which necessitate prosecution and accountability.
The Al-Quds Governorate called upon the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and take immediate action to halt the Zionist enemy's crimes, end the policy of impunity, provide urgent international protection for Palestinian children, and work to hold Zionist war criminals accountable.
In the conclusion of its statement, the Governorate affirmed that continued international silence provides a political cover for the occupation and encourages it to persist with its crimes against the Palestinian people.
