The Acting Minister of Defense of Iran, Brigadier General Majid Ibn Al-Rida, emphasized on Tuesday that his country will respond to any violation of the ceasefire without hesitation. He stressed that while Iran trusts its brothers, it does not trust the enemy, declaring that "hands are on the trigger."
"There is no doubt that we will take the appropriate, necessary measures and responses to any violation of the ceasefire terms," Ibn Al-Rida stated. At the same time, he asserted that the Strait of Hormuz must not be exploited by non-regional nations.
He added that the deployment of foreign forces does not contribute to establishing security, but rather increases misunderstanding, mistrust, and insecurity in the region.
Ibn Al-Rida pointed out that US support for the crimes of the Israeli entity in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, and Iran has led to the survival of this entity and the continuation of its arrogance, noting that the continued existence of the Israeli entity is dependent on creating crises and tensions.
These statements come days after the conclusion of the first round of technical talks between the Iranian and American delegations in Switzerland, held within the framework of following up on the implementation of the US-Iranian memorandum of understanding (MoU). This comes amid conflicting reports regarding the convening of a new round of negotiations, which may take place in Qatar.
Prior to this, Tehran had announced that the memorandum of understanding with Washington had entered into force after the completion of digital signatures, confirming that upcoming negotiations will be strictly limited to the mechanisms of implementing its clauses.
