The Deputy Commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Hossein Maroufi, affirmed that Russia and Iran have been and will always remain partners and allies without the slightest doubt, emphasizing that Moscow stands alongside the Islamic Republic.

Brigadier General Maroufi explained that the two countries share a geographic neighborhood, noting that good neighborliness is a prominent and natural characteristic that has distinguished their bilateral relations throughout history and up to the present day.

The IRGC Deputy Commander also pointed to current international challenges, stressing that the West wanted to inflict defeat upon Russia and Iran, but he asserted definitively that this will never happen.

Two days prior, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, had assured Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that Russia is determined to expand its cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran across all fields.

Medvedev also stressed that the Russian Federation will continue to support the legitimate rights and interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran in international forums, pointing out that countries opposed to unilateralism must strengthen their cooperation and coordination more than ever before.
