Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated on Tuesday that it is regrettable to see leaders from the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority (PA) and the Zionist enemy unite in attacking the positive step taken by Hamas regarding the resignation of the government emergency committee.

In a brief statement issued today, Qassem noted, "It is also strange to witness an identical use of terminology to describe this step between a senior PA official and Israeli political sources."

Yesterday, Qassem announced that Hamas had taken a new positive step forward toward implementing its consistent declaration that it will not be part of the "day-after" arrangements for the administration of the Gaza Strip.

The Hamas spokesperson confirmed the resignation of the government work committee in Gaza, noting that only purely technical and administrative aspects would remain to monitor the ongoing situation. He emphasized that this decision was made in response to the national interest and to strip the enemy entity of its pretexts.

Government bodies in the Gaza Strip had previously announced the dissolution of the government emergency committee. This formal step aims to pave the way for transferring governance to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, within agreed-upon administrative transition arrangements established with various Palestinian factions.

The decision coincided with the resignation of Mohamed Abdel Khaleq Al-Farra, the Chairman of the Government Emergency Committee and Acting Head of Government Follow-up. His resignation reinforces the commitment to moving forward with the handover procedures and responds to the requirements of the current political and administrative phase.

On Monday, the Government Media Office confirmed in a statement that all necessary administrative and legal arrangements for the transfer of authority had been finalized. These arrangements were presented to representatives of Palestinian factions, national forces, and civil society organizations in the presence of a UN representative, as part of a national track aimed at reorganizing the administration of the Strip.

The resignation of the emergency committee has received widespread praise from resistance factions and Gaza clans, who view it as a positive step in the right direction to pave the way for handing over the administration of Gaza and fulfilling the requirements of the multi-phase ceasefire agreement.
