The body of the martyred international leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, arrived in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq, on Monday evening.

The Iranian Consul in Karbala announced that the reception ceremony for the pure body of the leader of the revolution, the martyred Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, will take place at Najaf International Airport. The ceremony will be attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Prime Minister of Iraq, and senior officials from both nations.

For its part, Iranian state television reported that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian departed the capital, Tehran, heading to the city of Najaf in Iraq to participate in the funeral procession ceremonies for Ayatollah Khamenei.

Iranian television added that President Pezeshkian is scheduled to receive an official reception from the Iraqi Prime Minister alongside several senior Iraqi officials.

In addition to his participation in the reception ceremonies for the body, President Pezeshkian will hold official talks with the Iraqi Prime Minister.

Alongside Pezeshkian, the Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and the eldest son of the martyred leader will also participate in the funeral ceremonies in Iraq.

This follows massive, historic million-man funeral processions and waves of mourners in the Iranian cities of Tehran and Qom, where vast crowds bid farewell to the martyred leader before his body was transported to Iraq.
