Iran's Civil Aviation Organization announced on Friday that flight operations are continuing non-stop, despite what it described as "sabotage measures by the enemy."
The international Tasnim News Agency reported on Friday morning, quoting Abu Dhar Shiroudi, the head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, that air traffic across the country remains uninterrupted.
"Despite the sabotage activities and security threats carried out by the enemy in some regions of the country, a series of special measures have been taken in cooperation with military and security authorities to ensure flight safety, protect passengers' lives, and maintain the continuity of aviation services," the Iranian official stated.
Abu Dhar Shiroudi emphasized that aerial operations in Iran have proceeded without disruption. He added that alternative plans were successfully drafted and executed to ensure the continuity of flight operations, the safe transport of the body, and the secure travel of domestic and international passengers and pilgrims, coinciding with the funeral ceremonies of the global leader, the martyr Sayyid Ali Khamenei.
He explained that any delays, schedule changes, or temporary cancellations of a number of flights were carried out as precautionary measures aimed entirely at maintaining the security and safety of passengers.
This comes after Tuesday-Wednesday and Wednesday-Thursday nights witnessed a major escalation when U.S. Central Command forces launched a wide-ranging aggression on Iranian territory, hitting bridges and infrastructure.
In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army retaliated by bombing U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as the Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base in Jordan.
