Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has denied reports claiming that his country submitted a request for direct negotiations with the United States. Concurrently, he revealed that Tehran has accepted a visit from an international mediator to the Iranian capital to discuss current issues.

In the context of addressing American violations, Baghaei emphasized that the United States has flagrantly breached the signed "Memorandum of Understanding" between the two parties by launching a military attack on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to canceling oil sanctions waivers and imposing new sanction packages.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson highlighted Iran's firm approach, stating: "If the other party breaches its commitments, Iran will do the same in return."

Earlier today, the criminal U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington had agreed to hold talks with Iran "at its request," according to his claims.

Regarding regional diplomatic movements, Baghaei explained that the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to the Sultanate of Oman today, Saturday, focuses primarily on the strategic Strait of Hormuz and the safety of maritime navigation in the region.

The Spokesperson affirmed that Iran is resolutely determined to fulfill its full responsibilities in securing the safety of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that cooperation and coordination between Tehran and Muscat are continuous and ongoing to facilitate the safe and stable passage of all ships through this vital waterway.

Araghchi's visit coincides with repeated assurances from Iranian officials that the management of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz will be exclusively confined to the littoral states (Iran and the Sultanate of Oman), with an emphasis that its reopening will be conducted according to their own arrangements.

The past few days have witnessed attacks launched by the United States on southern areas of Iran as well as movements in the Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran responded by targeting vital U.S. sites, bases, and installations in the Gulf.
