The Martyr Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, have denied the accuracy of the information published by the London-based newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat" regarding the Commander-in-Chief of the Brigades, the martyr Mohammed Deif, confirming that what was published does not rely on any official source within the resistance.

In a brief press statement issued today, Wednesday, the Military Media of the al-Qassam Brigades stated that the reports and information circulated by the newspaper concerning the circumstances of the targeting of the martyr Mohammed Deif are "completely baseless" and do not rely on any official source belonging to the resistance.

The Brigades called upon various media outlets to verify accuracy and adhere to professional standards when reporting news, emphasizing the necessity of relying on official and authorized sources when addressing any information related to the leadership or activities of the Brigades.

They stressed that the Military Media of the al-Qassam Brigades is the official and sole authorized reference for publishing anything related to the news of the Brigades, its fighters, and its leaders, urging against the circulation or adoption of any information issued by unofficial sources.

The clarification from the al-Qassam Brigades follows the publication of a press report by Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, in which it claimed, citing sources it described as "inside the Hamas movement," details regarding the circumstances of the targeting of the Commander-in-Chief of the al-Qassam Brigades, the martyr Mohammed Deif—an account that the Brigades have categorically denied.
