The United States has carried out a series of military strikes across multiple regions in southern Iran, targeting several locations overnight and during the early hours of Thursday. The attacks have resulted in widespread damage to residential homes and civilian infrastructure.

Strikes Expand Across Key Southern Regions

Renewed airstrikes hit the port city of Bandar Abbas for the third time in recent hours, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing military operations.

Reports of the strikes emerged from several provinces:

  • Sistan and Baluchestan Province: The Iranian News Agency reported hearing explosions in the city of Rask following the strikes, while the Tasnim News Agency confirmed that two explosions shook the city of Konarak.

  • Khuzestan Province: Mehr News Agency reported a fresh explosion in the city of Ahvaz. According to Tasnim News Agency, US forces targeted more than four separate points in the city, carrying out repeated strikes throughout the night. The Deputy Governor of Khuzestan confirmed that these strikes inflicted damage on several residential homes in Ahvaz.

  • Hormozgan Province: The Hormozgan Provincial Council confirmed that a US attack targeting the vicinity of Qeshm Island damaged a section of a local fishmeal processing factory. Additionally, Tasnim reported that a US projectile struck near the port of Sirik, with the Iranian News Agency later reporting renewed strikes on the same port.

Rising Casualties and Retaliatory Actions

According to the head of the Public Relations Center at the Iranian Ministry of Health, the death toll from the US strikes had reached 35 citizens as of 12:00 PM yesterday.

The strikes are part of a multi-day military campaign conducted by the US against southern Iran. In response, Iranian forces have been retaliating by targeting US military bases, facilities, and strategic sites throughout the region.

Political Standoff and Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz

Commenting on the ongoing operations, US President Donald Trump stated that the American strikes against Iran "will continue until I say it's enough," while acknowledging that Iran "still possesses the capability to resist."

In light of the ongoing US military actions in the Strait of Hormuz and the maritime blockade reimposed by the Trump administration, Iran has moved to re-close the vital international waterway.
