Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament), asserted on Thursday that the United States will incur a much heavier cost if the ongoing conflict escalates into a "heavy-caliber" war.

In his statements on Thursday, Boroujerdi emphasized that "the Iranian armed forces are in complete control of the Strait of Hormuz." He urged US President Donald Trump to abandon his "false illusions," declaring that "the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will not return to what it was prior to the 40-day war."

Boroujerdi highlighted that the "interconnection between the military field and diplomacy has shifted the balance of power in Iran's favor," framing the consolidation of the Islamic Republic of Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz as a key achievement of this coordinated strategy.

He explained that the primary objective of diplomatic talks, alongside the operational activities of the armed forces on the ground, is to secure the national interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran—a strategy he described as both logical and principled.

Boroujerdi concluded by warning that "as long as Trump is the president of the United States, anything is possible due to his unpredictable behavior." However, he reiterated a firm warning: "If the war shifts to a heavy caliber, the Americans will pay a far greater price, both now and in the future."
