Over the past two days, the countrysides of Daraa and Quneitra in Syria witnessed an escalation in Zionist military movements. This included firing at civilian homes, launching flare bombs, conducting ground incursions supported by vehicles and bulldozers, alongside flights by warplanes.
In detail, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that it monitored, "during July 16 and 17, an escalation of Israeli military movements in the Daraa and Quneitra countrysides. This manifested in the targeting of civilian homes, the firing of flare bombs, and repeated ground incursions, coinciding with the flight of Israeli warplanes. Meanwhile, instances of local residents confronting the invading forces using stones were recorded."
The Observatory added that "on July 16, "Israeli" forces targeted residential homes in Ma'ariya village, located in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside, with heavy machine guns. According to information, the gunfire originated from the Zionist "Al-Jazeera" military barracks, and the stray bullets struck civilian homes, causing a state of panic and fear among residents, though no human casualties were recorded."
The SOHR pointed out that "on the same day, "Israeli" forces fired flare bombs into the airspace between the towns of Jubata al-Khashab and Hadar in the Quneitra countryside. The flares illuminated the sky over the border area amid a state of alert and anticipation among the locals."
As for July 17, a Zionist enemy force consisting of four military vehicles and a bulldozer incursed into the vicinity of Abdeen village in the western Daraa countryside, amid a state of public mobilization in the region, according to the Syrian Observatory.
The bulldozer proceeded to remove stones placed by residents to block the road leading to the Al-Arda area, the vicinity of which witnesses the repeated establishment of a Zionist military checkpoint. The soldiers accompanying the force also fired toward civilian homes, without any casualties recorded.
Simultaneously, a Zionist drone dropped a bomb near a number of residents as they attempted to re-close the Ma'ariya–Abdeen road with stones; however, the bomb did not result in casualties or material damage.
In the central Quneitra countryside, a Zionist patrol consisting of two military vehicles and a number of soldiers incursed toward the Ruwihina Dam area before withdrawing following resistance from the locals.
According to local sources speaking to the Observatory, residents pelted the patrol with stones as soon as it advanced toward the area, forcing it to retreat and withdraw without any injuries occurring.
Yesterday, the Yarmouk Basin area in the western Daraa countryside also witnessed the flight of Zionist enemy warplanes, which continued for hours in the region's airspace, without any information regarding air strikes or direct targetings.
This escalation comes within the framework of ongoing Zionist enemy military movements in southern Syria, which are frequently accompanied by incursion operations and the establishment of temporary military points, amid a state of tension and growing public rejection in the border areas.
Meanwhile, armed groups led by "Abu Mohammad al-Julani" affirm that Syria will not pose any threat to regional countries, including the Zionist entity. Furthermore, "al-Julani" expressed understanding of the Zionist entity's security concerns, pledging "not to allow any party or state to threaten Israel from Syrian territory."
