The Spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baghaei, confirmed that the European Union's claim of empathy for human rights in Iran represents "pure hypocrisy," criticizing statements made by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, regarding what she termed "human rights concerns" in the country.

Baghaei questioned how the alleged European commitment to human rights could be reconciled with providing logistical and technical support for deadly attacks that deliberately target the Iranian people, including civilians and vital national infrastructure.

He pointed out that the European Union abstained from condemning the most obvious war crimes and failed to express any empathy for Iranian children killed by American and Israeli bombs and missiles, the deployment of which "was made possible through European logistical and technical support."

Baghaei concluded by stating that this stance "is not merely a loss of credibility, but a banality of evil and the most blatant form of hypocrisy."
