Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Thursday that it targeted the American Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, praising the outspoken positions taken by groups of Jordanian elites.
In a statement addressed to the Jordanian populace, the IRGC said: "O honorable and conscious people of Jordan, your sincere companionship and cooperation, particularly the explicit stances adopted by groups among Jordan's elites, have tightened the noose on the enemy and left them in a state of helplessness."
The statement added: "At dawn today, the American enemy—incapable of direct military confrontation—resorted to using occupied bases in your country to launch an air attack with bunker-busting bombs on two residential houses, targeting simple homes of local citizens on Qeshm Island, which led to the martyrdom of a father, mother, and one child, while injuring two other children."
The IRGC noted that, "in response to this crime, the Aerospace Force of the IRGC targeted the deployment ramps and maintenance hangars of the American enemy's F-35 fighter jets at Al-Azraq Air Base, completely destroying 3 F-35 aircraft and causing severe damage to 3 others."
"A number of enemy officers, technical personnel, and maintenance teams were also killed in this attack," according to the statement.
Addressing the Jordanian people, the Revolutionary Guard affirmed: "Our region is not a place for an army that kills children and brutally commits massacres against innocent families while they sleep in the middle of the night."
The statement concluded: "Our battle and yours will continue until the last American occupier is expelled from Islamic lands."
Following the renewal of aggression nearly three weeks ago, the Iranian Armed Forces have intensified their attacks on U.S. bases in Jordan. According to Iranian intelligence, these bases have become the command center for U.S. forces in the region. The strikes have targeted aircraft hangars and air defense systems, with one previous attack causing the deaths of several U.S. soldiers.
