Iranian news agency Nour News reported that recent U.S. media reports regarding potential attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure have heightened the likelihood of the conflict expanding into the realm of global energy security.

According to the agency, striking energy infrastructure represents a direct attack on the national security, deterrence posture, and strategic equations of all parties involved, rather than serving as a mere economic measure.

Nour News noted that Tehran's interpretation of these attempts—which aim to inflict sustained economic disruption—could shift its deterrence calculations and significantly raise costs for Washington.

These developments follow statements from a senior Iranian security official, who confirmed Iran's readiness to execute a dynamic, large-scale plan targeting critical infrastructure belonging to the Israeli enemy, as well as U.S. energy infrastructure in the region, in response to any aggression against Iranian energy facilities.

American media outlets had previously circulated reports indicating that the United States and" "Israel" are preparing to target facilities tied to Iran's energy sector. However, U.S. officials stated to CNN that while preparations have been discussed, "the scope of attacks and targets in Iran is not yet clear," adding that there remains a "possibility that the strikes could be canceled."
