The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that its air defense systems shot down 635 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight.
In a statement, the ministry said: "Overnight, active air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 635 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Tambov, Tula, and the Moscow region, as well as the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar Krai, and the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea."
Earlier on Sunday, the governor of Russia's Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, reported that air defense forces repelled an overnight attack on Rostov region, destroying approximately 150 drones.
In a post on his Telegram channel, Slyusar stated: "Last night, air defense forces repelled a large-scale attack on Rostov region, destroying nearly 150 drones in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and seven other districts, including Chertkovsky, Tarasovsky, Millerovsky, Morozovsky, Kamensky, Sholokhovsky, and Azovsky."
