The British newspaper The Telegraph affirmed that "the war waged by Trump and Netanyahu to overthrow or weaken the Islamic Republic concludes with a clear expansion of Iranian regional influence."
The report noted that "the United States and Israel lost the war, while Iran emerged victorious."
The paper further observed that "a potential agreement between Iran and Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz indicates that Tehran has emerged from the conflict stronger than before."
"There is a possibility that this conflict will prove to be a turning point in the decline of United States global influence," the daily added.
It pointed out that "the war against Iran may become one of history's major blunders," emphasizing that "peace agreements ultimately reflect the realities of the battles on the ground—realities Washington attempted to alter and failed."
In a related context, the British financial daily Financial Times noted that Trump’s return to war with Iran offers no promise of a decisive victory. Instead, the resumption of hostilities increases the likelihood that these tensions will weigh heavily on his second term.
The publication highlighted that the Trump administration faces substantial economic, political, and diplomatic costs, particularly with the congressional midterm elections approaching this autumn.
