The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) confirmed that at least 300 children in Gaza have been killed over the past 300 days—since the announcement of the ceasefire in October 2025—despite the agreement on "suspending military operations and the full entry of humanitarian and relief aid."

UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Edouard Beigbeder, stated in a press release that a ceasefire "that leaves, on average, one child dead every day is failing children." He added that hundreds of other children have been injured, the majority of them seriously, and that the children of Gaza are still waiting for "the end of violence they were promised."

Beigbeder added that statements made in recent days outline a roadmap for the next phase of the ceasefire, including steps toward "ending hostilities and expanding the scope of humanitarian aid, offering renewed hope and an opportunity to stop the killing of children." He pointed out that children have heard promises before, and "this time, agreements must be translated into action."

A statement issued by UNICEF called on all parties to fulfill their obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law and human rights law, emphasizing the necessity for parties to protect children and ensure their access to essential goods and services—including healthcare, education, safe water, and food—as well as allowing and facilitating the safe, rapid, and unhindered access of humanitarian aid to children in need.
