The branch of the National Human Rights Authority in Taiz Governorate has strongly condemned the targeting of students at Mus'ab Ibn Umayr School in Al-Masader village, Ozla Al-Tabeesh'ah in Sabir Al-Mawadim District, by artillery shelling from Saudi enemy mercenaries.

A statement issued by the authority's branch explained that the Saudi enemy mercenaries' shelling of the school resulted in the martyrdom of the child Boroj Ayman Muhammad Abdullah and injured student Abdulrahman Ahmed Abdulkarim with varying degrees of severity.

The statement considered the targeting of schoolchildren a crime and a blatant violation of international and humanitarian charters, norms, and laws, as well as the Convention on the Rights of the Child, adding to the bloody track record of the Saudi enemy and its mercenaries in targeting the educational process and childhood in the governorate.

The statement demanded that international and humanitarian organizations condemn the targeting of children and schools, document it as a war crime, work to protect students and civilians, and exert pressure to stop the shelling of residential areas while holding violators accountable and bringing them to justice.

Holding the Saudi enemy fully responsible for this crime and other crimes committed over 12 years, the branch called on local organizations concerned with childhood to monitor violations, work to halt repeated crimes, and pursue perpetrators until they face justice.
