The Association of Yemeni Scholars has condemned renewed US-Israeli desecration of the Holy Quran, saying such incidents continue because those responsible for offending the Quran and Islamic holy sites have not been held accountable.

In a statement, the association called on Islamic countries to sever relations with the US and demand the prosecution of individuals it stated are desecrating the Quran and Islamic sanctities.

The association also urged Muslim communities to express their anger through a comprehensive economic boycott of US goods and demonstrations.

It further accused Arab and Islamic governments, including Saudi Arabia, of being partners in these heinous crimes through alignment and cooperation with the United States.

The statement called on the Yemeni people to take a leading role in responding to the incident, urging them to make defending the Quran part of activities marking the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday.

The remarks come amid renewed outrage across the Islamic world following repeated incidents of Qur’an desecration and anti-Islam provocations in the United States and several Western countries.

The developments coincide with continued Israeli enemy aggression in Gaza and escalating tensions across the region, fueling broader calls within the Islamic world for political, economic, and popular action in defense of Islamic sanctities and support for Palestine.
