Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that attempts to turn Iran into a version of Venezuela had failed, as Tehran instead became a power that astonished the world with its resilience, solidarity, and cohesion.
Speaking at a ceremony renewing allegiance to the founder of the Iranian Revolution and Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, Pezeshkian said that Tehran is making the utmost efforts to protect people’s livelihoods from crises, but that “the enemy is using all its strength to obstruct our efforts to ease the suffering of the people.”
Pezeshkian pointed out that Iran is currently facing “an all-out war on the economic, military, and security fronts.”
In related remarks, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, said yesterday that Iran’s defense strategies have undergone development, stressing that “Iran today is not the Iran before the war,” and that the image of the United States has also changed.
Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref also affirmed yesterday that the government would not allow economic stability and citizens’ livelihoods to be targeted under the pressure of US “economic terrorism.”
A few days ago, US President, the criminal Donald Trump, announced the launch of what he described as “the most severe and destructive economic operation ever undertaken against any country,” targeting Iran.
