The Martyr Al-Sammad Square in Hodeidah City and the Great Prophet Square in Al-Husseiniyah, Beit Al-Faqih District, were packed today with massive crowds marking the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, in a festive atmosphere reflecting the significance of the occasion and the people’s devotion to the Prophet.
The Martyr Al-Sammad Square witnessed an unprecedented human tide, with crowds arriving from the city’s districts as well as northern and eastern areas. The Al-Husseiniyah Square was likewise filled with large numbers of people from the southern districts, carrying banners expressing loyalty and reverence for the occasion.
Joy and celebration prevailed throughout the major festival, with chants and religious songs praising the Prophet and expressing devotion to him, continuing weeks of activities held across the governorate since the beginning of Safar.
The Tihama crowds adorned the squares with distinctive festive displays, including traditional chants, banners and green flags, expressing their attachment to the Prophet’s teachings and their deeply rooted religious identity.
People traveled from distant villages and rural areas, covering long distances to reach the two celebration venues. Roads and main entrances were filled with participants, creating a scene in which the hardships of the journey were overcome by the joy of arrival and devotion to the Prophet.
The huge crowds expressed pride in commemorating the Prophet’s birth and renewed their commitment to following his teachings and embodying his values in daily life.
The gatherings also expressed support for the positions of the Revolution Leader in confronting what they described as Saudi enemy schemes, stressing their readiness to strengthen mobilization and resilience in facing challenges and working toward ending the suffering of the Yemeni people.
Participants voiced pride in the positions of the Yemeni people and their leadership, represented by Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, describing the Prophet’s birthday as an occasion to renew faith, steadfastness and commitment to confronting their adversaries.
The celebrations were attended by Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim, Governor Abdullah Ateifi, former Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, members of the House of Representatives and Shura Council, First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri and other local officials.
Participants said the commemoration renews the values of morality, loyalty and adherence to the Prophet’s path, while representing a message of unity and solidarity in confronting attempts to undermine Islamic identity.
They stressed that the massive turnout reflects Yemen’s commitment to the causes of the Muslim nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, , conveys a message of steadfastness and determination to continue supporting Islamic causes and adhering to the Prophet’s teachings.
They also said the gathering reflects national unity and demonstrates that commemorating the Prophet’s birthday is a deeply rooted Yemeni tradition passed down through generations.
They stressed that commemorating the Prophet’s birthday amid the ongoing developments in Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon , Iran raises public awareness, reinforces responsibility toward these causes, encourages continued efforts to support the oppressed and confront what they described as forces of arrogance and tyranny.
The two squares, which hosted the largest public gathering in the governorate’s history, echoed with chants conveying messages of pride and defiance, while declaring that the Yemeni people would continue pursuing their rights , confronting what they described as conspiracies despite mounting challenges and sacrifices.
Prophetic poems and religious songs also resonated throughout the squares, expressing deep love and devotion to the Prophet, while the crowds listened attentively to a speech by Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, which addressed religious , national themes , emphasized solidarity, support, steadfastness and strengthening faith-based awareness.
