US Navy vessels deployed to the Middle East are avoiding resupply in regional ports due to concerns about their proximity to Iranian missile range, according to a report by Politico published on Friday.

The Navy is instead choosing to resupply its vessels at the joint US-United Kingdom military base on Diego Garcia Island in the Indian Ocean, the report said. The facility is located over 2,000 miles away from the Islamic Republic.

The report noted that Washington would face an even greater problem in the event of a conflict with China, as Beijing possesses an arsenal several times larger than Tehran's to target US bases with ballistic missiles.

Iran vows surprises despite aggression

Iran’s enemies failed to achieve their objectives during their aggression despite using the full extent of their military capabilities, Iranian Defense Ministry spokesperson Reza Talaei-Nik stated.

In remarks to IRNA, Talaei-Nik said domestic weapons production continued throughout the war, adding that Iran’s defense industry is undergoing a process of technological advancement and development.

He said Iran, its people, armed forces, and defense industries had become significantly stronger than they were before the aggression.

Iran's arms production more than doubled in one year

Talaei-Nik also revealed that Iran’s arms production had more than doubled between the 12-day war and the Ramadan War. He said Iran has more than 1,000 types of domestically produced weapons and military equipment, enabling the country to achieve 90% self-sufficiency.

He stressed that the Defense Ministry had prepared armament, equipment, technological, and tactical surprises for the enemy that would be unveiled on the battlefield.

Talaei-Nik’s latest remarks build on comments he made last week, when he said Iran had doubled its production of defense weapons and equipment over the previous year, underscoring Tehran’s emphasis on expanding its domestic military capabilities.

"Within one year, since the start of the Twelve-Day War, that is, from June of last year to June of this year, the production of defensive weapons and equipment doubled," Talaei-Nik said, as quoted by the Tasnim News Agency.
