Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed, during his meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, that “Islamic countries are capable of resolving their differences without foreign intervention.”
Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for Islamabad’s constructive role in the negotiations that resulted in the recent agreement.
He affirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to implement the memorandum of understanding, provided that the other side fulfills its commitments.
Earlier today, Pezeshkian stressed that his country’s efforts “were focused on ensuring peace and dialogue, but instead of using diplomacy, the Americans chose the path of war,” during his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a related context, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, senior adviser to the Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said that if the Americans wished to make a “rational decision” that serves their interests, they would not wage another war against Tehran.
Brigadier General Naqdi noted that most of the leaders currently in Tehran lean toward and prefer an offensive doctrine, considering it “very interesting, feasible, and highly effective from an operational standpoint.”
