Yemen’s Supreme Political Council said Saudi aggression and crimes against the Yemeni people will not go unpunished, holding the Saudi regime responsible for the violations, their consequences and the repercussions of its continued escalation.

In a statement Monday evening, the council condemned the Saudi enemy’s attack on the central correctional facility in Al-Hazm, Al-Jawf province, which killed and wounded several inmates, along with attacks on civilian homes in several provinces.

It described the attacks as a grave violation of international humanitarian law and relevant international conventions.

The council said targeting civilians and detainees and violating Yemen’s sovereignty would not go unanswered, stressing that Yemen would exercise its full and legitimate right to defend its people, sovereignty and interests.

It warned the Saudi enemy that continued escalation would carry consequences and could push the situation into a new phase for which Riyadh would bear full responsibility.

The council called on the United Nations, the Security Council and relevant organizations to immediately and explicitly condemn the attack and end silence over continuing crimes.

It also directed the government and relevant authorities to provide emergency aid and medical care to the wounded, support the families of those killed, document the damage and violations, and complete legal procedures to safeguard victims’ rights and hold those responsible accountable.

The council concluded by offering condolences to the families of the victims, affirming that Yemeni blood would not be shed in vain and that Yemen’s rights and sovereignty would not be subject to neglect or bargaining.

Earlier, Al-Masirah's correspondent in Al-Jawf reported that five martyrs, including a child, had arrived at Al-Hazm Hospital following the Saudi enemy's attack, which targeted inmates, staff and visitors at the facility.

The massacre came less than an hour after Saudi enemy warplanes targeted a home in Maqbanah district, Taiz province, injuring a mother and her three daughters.

The latest attacks come amid an ongoing Saudi-led escalation on multiple fronts. Saudi-backed forces have continued shelling and targeting areas in Al-Jawf and other provinces, with civilians repeatedly caught in the violence.

Yemeni officials stressed that the Saudi enemy is using local mercenary forces to sustain military pressure and destabilize front-line areas, while warning that continued attacks risk further escalation and civilian casualties.
