The local authority in Taiz Governorate has confirmed that it has begun putting in place arrangements to implement the directives of President of the Supreme Political Council Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat concerning a presidential amnesty for all those deceived into fighting on the western coast fronts who have laid down their arms and returned to their senses.

In a statement issued today, the Taiz local authority said the arrangements include, foremost, securing safe roads and routes for those returning and facilitating their return to their villages and homes.

It said the presidential amnesty reflects the wisdom of the leadership and its commitment to preventing further bloodshed, reuniting Yemenis, and sparing them the horrors of war. 

It described the amnesty as a golden opportunity for anyone who was drawn or coerced into joining the ranks of the Saudi enemy to return to the national fold and to their families without fear or hesitation, stressing that the homeland has room for everyone and that there is no place for revenge or settling scores.

The local authority called on all those deceived into fighting on the western coast fronts to immediately lay down their arms and return to their families and loved ones, urging them not to hesitate or heed rumors or calls from the tools of aggression aimed at prolonging the conflict and depriving them of this opportunity.

It also urged those deceived to have “full confidence in the leadership and the local authority,” assuring them that they would be welcomed and that all necessary arrangements would be made to reintegrate them into society and enable them to resume their lives as law-abiding citizens, “with the same rights and obligations as everyone else,” and regain their normal lives.
