US President Donald Trump’s envoy to West Asia, Steve Witkoff, reported earning more than $100 million in 2025 from an entity that owns his stake in cryptocurrency company World Liberty Financial, according to a new financial disclosure.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the income included nearly $69 million in cash and $38 million in cryptocurrency, as per the filing. Witkoff’s income from the holding company was more than three times the $34 million he reported from the same entity in his previous disclosure.

Witkoff co-founded World Liberty Financial with Trump and members of the Trump family in September 2024. The company’s WLFI token has since declined sharply in value after becoming publicly tradable last fall.

Overall, Witkoff reported more than $400 million in assets and more than $250 million in income for 2025. The figures may be understated, however, as government financial disclosures allow officials to report some holdings within broad value ranges or simply as “over $50,000,000.”

Witkoff income and Abu Dhabi investment

The disclosure does not specify how much of Witkoff’s reported $107 million in income from the World Liberty-linked entity came from a major investment by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates’ national security adviser.

Tahnoon backed a $500 million investment in World Liberty Financial last year in exchange for a 49% stake, according to a previous Wall Street Journal report. The buyers paid half of the investment upfront, directing at least $31 million to entities affiliated with the Witkoff family.

White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said Witkoff’s “prior commercial activities are completely unrelated to his efforts to end global conflicts on the President’s behalf.”

A person familiar with Tahnoon’s investment previously told the Journal that the deal was not discussed with Trump during due diligence or afterward.

Since his appointment as envoy in November 2024, Witkoff has played a central role in US negotiations involving a Gaza ceasefire, the Russia-Ukraine war, the Iran war and other international issues. He has also met repeatedly with Tahnoon in his official capacity.

Later last year, an entity owned by Tahnoon and his co-investors became a major shareholder backing a new US bank that World Liberty Financial is preparing to launch. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted the venture preliminary conditional approval last month.
