The risks posed by the Yemeni Armed Forces controlling additional areas along the western coast on the Red Sea to maritime traffic linked to "Israel", Israeli media warned on Thursday.

Israeli Army Radio expressed fear that the Yemeni Armed Forces' success in "controlling additional areas on the Red Sea coast enhances their dominance over the Bab al-Mandab Strait," which, in turn, "helps them impose a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia, the Suez Canal, and the port of Eilat."

Other Israeli media outlets cautioned that the location of the city of Mokha and its port enables the YAF to "establish a new and lethal choke point at the entrance to the Red Sea" and to "monitor vessels over long distances and prepare operations to carry them out when necessary."
