Israeli prison repression units, known as “Metsada” and “Yamas", raided sections 2, 10, and 11 at Damon Prison on September 6, 2026, forcing the female Palestinian detainees out of their rooms and assaulting them, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office.
The office said the Israeli units forced the Palestinian detainees to lie face-down on the scorching ground and beat one Palestinian female detainee on her back despite her having previously sustained fractures.
It also reported that “scabies is spreading among the female detainees, amid their deprivation of medical treatment, prompting some of them to scratch their bodies until they bleed.”
Israeli Prison authorities also isolated detainee Lama Khater in section 13 as part of an ongoing policy of repression and punishment.
Urgent intervention needed
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office called for urgent intervention to halt the repression, ensure that the Palestinian detainees receive medical treatment, and hold those responsible accountable.
Earlier, on August 30, the office reported that repression forces affiliated with the Israeli occupation prison administration raided Room 14 and two other rooms in Section 4 of Janot Prison. The Israeli forces assaulted detainees from the Gaza Strip, leaving several of them injured by rubber bullets.
The office said Gaza detainees at the prison are repeatedly subjected to beatings, repression, insults, and retaliatory abuse.
Palestinian women have long faced beatings, insults, and verbal abuse since the moment of their detention by Israeli forces. The mistreatment intensifies during interrogations, where detainees are subjected to psychological and physical coercion, including beatings, sleep deprivation, prolonged stress positions, intimidation, and other forms of abuse.
