Mohammed Abdulsalam, head of Yemen's national delegation, has affirmed that freedom of navigation and international trade movement in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab are safe and regular, calling on all parties not to be concerned about them.

In a post on social media, Abdulsalam explained that the ongoing operations are "specific in their targets according to what was previously announced, and come within a defensive framework." He added that "once the aggression against Yemen stops and the siege is lifted, the current operations will cease."

Abdulsalam noted that what the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out in some coastal areas is "a national operation within the framework of imposing Yemeni sovereignty and dealing with the challenges and ambitions that threaten civil peace."

Peace Is the Strategic Choice

He emphasized that "true, just, and honorable peace was and will remain our strategic choice," adding that "everyone must realize that the choice of peace with Yemen is the least costly and the shortest path toward reorganizing relations according to the principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect, and common interests."

Abdulsalam stressed that "Yemen has no ambitions in any neighboring country, Arab, Islamic, or other countries in the world, and has not aggressed against any country. Rather, it is the one that has been aggressed against in a manner contrary to Islamic and Arab brotherhood."

Deputy Foreign Minister Abdul Wahid Abu Ras affirmed in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that "maritime navigation is safe, and the security of navigation has nothing to do with the skirmishes that were extinguished in the western coast districts."

The Operations Coordination Center for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen announced to all global shipping companies that navigation in the Red Sea is safe for all companies, with the exception of the previous ban on Saudi ships.

The western coast fronts have witnessed intense fighting amid movements by Saudi enemy-backed forces, prompting the Yemeni Armed Forces to target these formations in the area with drones and ballistic missiles.

Amid the latest field developments, activists have circulated reports that Saudi-backed forces have withdrawn from several positions along the western coast, most notably Khalid Camp at the Al-Mokha junction in western Taiz province.
