Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras renewed his confirmation of Sanaa’s readiness to achieve a just peace and end the aggression and siege imposed on Yemen.
During a meeting held today via videoconference with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, Abu Ras pointed out that addressing the humanitarian file is the gateway to addressing the remaining files, and that the Saudi regime’s failure to respond to Sanaa’s calls in this regard is what brought the situation to where it is today, and that it bears responsibility for the consequences of this.
He addressed the operations carried out by the armed forces in some districts of the western coast, affirming that the situation is stable and that the Yemeni government is carrying out its duty to address the humanitarian situation in those areas.
He also affirmed that maritime navigation is safe, and that the ban applies only to Saudi maritime navigation, which was imposed prior to the recent events, expressing Sanaa’s support for the efforts being exerted by the Special Envoy to achieve peace in Yemen.
For his part, the UN Special Envoy affirmed the United Nations’ commitment to exerting efforts to de-escalate and achieve peace in Yemen.
