Lahj Governor Ahmed Jreib affirmed that the battle being waged by the Yemeni people is not directed against the people of the southern and eastern governorates, but rather against the Saudi enemy, which is lying in wait for all Yemenis without exception.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Governor Jreib said that the free and honorable people of the southern and eastern governorates reject being used as cannon fodder in Saudi Arabia’s war.

He stressed that the South has nothing to fear from Sanaa, but rather from the foreign occupier, which exploits the people of the southern and eastern governorates and uses them as fuel for its wars.

“What has the occupation given you other than killing and destruction, the dismantling of state institutions, the disruption of essential services, and the plundering of the country’s resources?” he asked.

He further affirmed that, through cooperation between the people of the north and south, the occupation can be driven from every inch of the homeland and the siege imposed on the Yemeni people can be lifted.
