Member of the Association of Yemeni Scholars, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Safi, affirmed that Yemen and its people have, throughout history, stood in support of Islam and Muslims in every time and place, a distinction that Allah Almighty and His Messenger have bestowed upon the people of Yemen.

In a speech delivered during the Yemeni Scholars’ Conference to refute the Saudi regime’s claims regarding the targeting of Mecca, may Allah protect it, Sheikh Al-Safi said that Yemen is distinguished by divine and prophetic protections that do not end with a particular stage or period, but rather remain for as long as the heavens and the earth endure, stressing that these characteristics represent a promise of victory and protection for the people of Yemen.

Sheikh Al-Safi pointed out that Yemen presents the greatest scene that infuriates them through celebrating the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his Household, stressing that celebrating his birth anniversary every year is a victory for Yemen and the nation, noting that following the Prophet’s birthday, we witness great victories and glad tidings for Yemen.

He added: “We look deeply at the reality: Why was this issue raised? It is hostility toward the Noble Messenger. They want to deny the Prophet’s saying that ‘faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni,’ and they seek to defame Yemenis by accusing them of striking the Kaaba and targeting Mecca.”

Sheikh Al-Safi explained that there is hostility on the part of the Al Saud toward the Noble Messenger, citing their declaring the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday an innovation and their excommunication of Yemenis who celebrate this occasion. He continued: “They celebrate Satan, with a model of the Kaaba and dancers and immoral women dancing around the Kaaba, and the message is hostility toward the Messenger of Allah.”
