Egyptian Sheikh Saeed Salama affirmed that Yemenis cannot attack the Sacred House of  Allah, citing the status of Mecca among them and what is known of them for faith, wisdom, and attachment to the sacred sites of the Islamic nation.

In a speech during the Yemeni Scholars’ Conference to refute the Saudi regime’s claims regarding the targeting of Mecca, may Allah protect it, Egyptian Sheikh Saeed Salama cited the words of Allah Almighty: “Those who disbelieve and hinder others from the way of Allah and from the Sacred Mosque, which We have made equally accessible to all people, both residents and visitors.” He affirmed that Allah Almighty has made the Sacred House a place of safety, and that it is inconceivable that the people of Yemen—whose hearts long for Mecca and who travel there for Hajj and Umrah—would target it or attack it.

He pointed out that the Yemenis who have sacrificed and stood alongside Gaza, Palestine, and the sacred sites of the nation cannot, at the same time, be those targeting the Scared House of Allah, asking: “Can it be conceivable that Yemenis would attack the House of Allah, when their hearts yearn for it with longing and love? Allah forbid, absolutely not, a thousand times no.”

Sheikh Salama noted that history and reality bear witness to the Yemenis’ connection to Mecca and the Islamic holy sites, pointing to what is mentioned in the Prophetic tradition regarding the trials that target the Holy Kaaba, including the narration that an army that invades the Sacred House will be swallowed up, from its first to its last.

He stressed that the Yemenis stand on the side of defending the sacred sites of the nation, and that those who confronted the Israeli occupation and stood alongside Gaza and Palestine cannot be aggressors against the Holy Kaaba, considering that these claims contradict the positions declared by the Yemenis regarding the issues and sacred sites of the nation.

Sheikh Salama said: “What drives the army of the Jews and Christians, and its followers, tools, and minions, to launch a campaign against Yemen and the Yemenis is nothing but their loss and their resounding defeat on the fronts of honor and dignity connected to Allah Almighty, in which a person offers himself cheaply for Allah Almighty, who commanded in His Book: ‘And strive for Allah with the striving He deserves.’”

He called on Muslim scholars throughout the world to verify the accounts being circulated and not to be led by rumors and falsehoods, and to listen to the position of the Yemenis and their declared stances toward the House of Allah and the sacred sites of Muslims.

He noted that the message of the conference should reach the scholars of the nation in every corner of the earth, to affirm that the people of Yemen hold a deep love for Mecca and the Sacred House, and that accusing them of targeting the holiest sanctities of the nation contradicts their positions on the issues of the nation.
