A new era has begun in which US warplanes are hunted, pursued, and damaged, citing a document recording losses of American aircraft, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Friday.
In a post on X accompanied by a table documenting American losses, Ghalibaf said: "The era has indeed begun in which your F-35 and F-15 aircraft are hunted, and you are asked to report any damage sustained."
Addressing the leaders of his country's adversaries, the Iranian Parliament Speaker added: "What was previously a terrifying nightmare has now become a daily reality... accept it."
US media reports numerous warplanes damaged in Iranian strikes
The image published by Ghalibaf shows a detailed data map of losses and damage sustained by American aircraft, helicopters, and drones, including damage to F-35 and F-15 fighters, along with the destruction of and damage to refueling aircraft and various reconnaissance helicopters and drones.
Earlier on September 10, CBS reported that eight F-15 aircraft were damaged and an A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft was hit and lost one of its wings as a result of Iranian strikes on an air base in Jordan.
US forces in Jordan fired more than 30 Patriot missiles to intercept the missiles but failed, CBS News reported, part of a broader pattern of strain on US air defense stockpiles that officials have said includes a rapidly depleting supply of Patriot interceptors and other precision munitions.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps had confirmed carrying out the operation, in a statement numbered Announcement No. 13, early on Wednesday.
The IRGC said that its Aerospace Force struck the base, referred to in the statement as al-Azraq, in an operation code-named "Ya Haidar Karrar," using solid- and liquid-fueled ballistic missiles targeting the maintenance and preparation hangars and shelters housing F-35, F-16, and F-15 fighter jets.
The strike was in retaliation for US attacks on Iranian oil tankers.
Former US Navy officer John Cordle previously told Military Times that the destruction of the American naval support base in Manama by Iranian missiles is equivalent to the loss of an aircraft carrier.
