Media sources confirmed that Riyadh International Airport was targeted by several missiles, leading to the suspension of air traffic and the outbreak of fires at one of the fuel storage facilities.

Saudi Aramco announced that a fire had broken out at a fuel tank near Riyadh Airport, while Reuters quoted a witness as saying that flames and a thick column of black smoke had been seen rising near Riyadh Airport. Flight-tracking websites also showed aircraft stranded while awaiting landing at Riyadh Airport.

Saudi media had earlier confirmed that alerts were issued in Riyadh and Al-Kharj as a warning, as well as in Yanbu, Khamis Mushait and Abha, over the danger.

Numerous footage showing fires breaking out in fuel tanks at Riyadh Airport circulated, while NASA documented a fire near the northern side of the airport.

In the same context, the “Flightradar” website confirmed that King Khalid International Airport had been placed under the highest level of disruption after major disruptions, including delays to and cancellations of several flights.
