The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs said the casualties cited by the Saudi regime were the result of interceptions carried out by its own air-defense systems.

In a statement, the ministry said the Saudi regime deliberately conducts interceptions over densely populated areas in an effort to cause the highest possible number of casualties.

It stressed that, throughout the past 12 years, the Yemeni armed forces have demonstrated that they do not target civilians or residential neighborhoods, but rather military positions and oil facilities that finance Saudi Arabia’s military operations.

The statement said that the Saudi regime itself is responsible for targeting civilians of all backgrounds and age groups, having killed tens of thousands in full view of the international community, as documented by international organizations and institutions.

The ministry concluded by stressing that the Yemeni armed forces’ military operations are governed by religious, moral and humanitarian principles, a fact it said is borne out by the record on the ground.
