A woman was killed and her husband seriously wounded on Tuesday after Saudi-backed forces shelled residential neighborhoods in Taiz Governorate.
A local source in the governorate told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that Saudi-backed forces fired a mortar shell at civilians’ homes in the Al-Haljoum area of Al-Harir in Sala District shortly before sunset.
The source confirmed that the shelling killed a woman after she succumbed to shrapnel wounds, while her husband sustained injuries of varying severity and was taken for medical treatment.
The source condemned the continued targeting of populated villages by Saudi-backed forces, saying the suspicious silence of the United Nations has encouraged the Saudi enemy to persist in its crimes and violations against the Yemeni people.
