Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez stated that the United States administration is incapable of accepting the reality that Cuba is an independent and fully sovereign nation, emphasizing his country's right to remain as such.
Rodríguez added that "the lies and slanders delivered by United States President Donald Trump at the United Nations will not alter the reality of Cuba's independence and sovereignty," stressing that his country poses no threat to the United States or any other nation.
Furthermore, Rodríguez accused Washington of imposing an economic blockade against his country, including a blockade on the energy sector, asserting that this embargo is what truly threatens Cuba and impacts other nations.
The Cuban Foreign Minister concluded by emphasizing that "the blockade imposed on Cuba constitutes an act of genocide and collective punishment," reiterating that his country is a nation of peace and deserves to live in peace.
