Ansar Allah website - Report -17 Rabi' al-Thani 1448 AH
The Saudi enemy yesterday, Sunday, targeted commercial shops at the Economic Corporation Market in Mawiyah Junction in Taiz Governorate, leaving behind a brutal massacre that targeted the lives of 47 people, killed and wounded.
The Ministry of Health confirmed in a statement that seven citizens were killed and 40 others wounded, including five children, in an initial toll following the Saudi enemy’s airstrikes on the commercial shops.
The ministry condemned this horrific crime committed by the Saudi enemy’s aircraft through its direct and deliberate targeting of civilian objects at Mawiyah Junction in Al-Ta'iziyah District, through several airstrikes on commercial shops in the Economic Corporation Market, as well as on the wall of the governorate’s radio station. It called the crime a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws that prohibit the targeting of markets and civilian facilities.
The ministry pointed out that this crime comes as an extension of the Saudi enemy’s criminal record against the Yemeni people over 12 years of siege and continuous aggression, amid shameful Arab and international silence and complicity.
Regarding details of the crime, official spokesman for the Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that a Saudi F-15 fighter formation headed at 11:00 a.m. from Khamis Mushait Air Base toward Taiz Governorate. Brigadier General Saree explained in a statement that the Saudi fighter formation launched two airstrikes on the Taiz market at Mawiyah Junction at 11:29 a.m., committing a heinous crime against civilians that left nearly 50 people killed and wounded, according to an initial toll.
He said: “The Saudi fighter formation left the skies over Taiz at exactly 11:37 a.m., heading toward Al-Jawf Governorate, where it launched four airstrikes on Khub wa ash Sha’af District. It then left Al-Jawf Governorate, returning to Khamis Mushait Air Base in Saudi Arabia at 2:00 p.m.”
The Brutal Massacres Reveal the Intentions of the Aggressors
Head of the National Negotiating Delegation Mohammed Abdul-Salam affirmed that the Saudi enemy’s continued perpetration of massacres against civilians reveals the Saudi regime’s true destructive intentions toward Yemen, its land and its people.
In a post on social media, Abdul-Salam pointed out that the Saudi regime continues to commit massacres and target civilian structures and facilities, including bridges, buildings and markets, the latest being its targeting today of a commercial market in Taiz Governorate, which resulted in seven martyrs and dozens of wounded, according to an initial toll.
He also affirmed that these crimes will gain the Saudi enemy no achievement, but will only increase its failure and push our people toward greater steadfastness and resilience in achieving their just objectives.
The head of the National Negotiating Delegation noted that such Saudi crimes alert the world, particularly Arab and Islamic countries, to beware of following the Saudi regime in its aggressive war against our dear Yemeni people.
In the same context, member of the National Delegation Abdul-Malik Al-Ajri affirmed that the Saudi regime’s escalation of its crimes against civilians and civilian facilities is a cover for its military failure. He explained that the Saudi regime resorts to terrorizing citizens and targeting markets, bridges and homes as a tool of collective punishment.
Al-Ajri addressed the Saudi regime, saying: “Markets are not battlefields, civilians are not targets, and your persistence will not pass without accountability.”
The Massacres Will Not Pass Without a Response
Regarding the position toward the Saudi crimes against civilians, Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree affirmed that the blood unjustly and aggressively spilled at the Taiz market will have grave consequences for the Saudi criminal, by the permission and power of Allah, and that victory comes only from Allah.
Government spokesman Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaity also affirmed that the criminal Saudi enemy is escalating its brutal crimes against the Yemeni people, to the point that hardly a single day passes without the Al Saud regime spilling new Yemeni blood and deliberately targeting bridges, schools, health facilities and all infrastructure.
Dr. Al-Bukhaity explained that the aircraft of the criminal Saudi enemybombed commercial shops at the central Taiz market at Mawiyah Junction, resulting in the killing and wounding of 47 civilians, including five children, according to an initial toll.
He described the targeting of civilians as brutal and premeditated war crimes, saying that the criminal Saudi regime should have responded to the legitimate demands of the Yemeni people, stopped its aggression, lifted its siege and respected good-neighborly relations instead of persisting in shedding the blood of an Arab and Muslim people. However, he said, it insists on spilling Yemeni blood in implementation of the directives of Tel Aviv and Washington and in service of their agendas against the sons of the nation.
The government spokesman condemned the continued international silence toward the crimes committed against the Yemeni people, addressing the international community by saying: “The Yemeni people will defend themselves against those who targeted their children, women, resources and infrastructure, and it is incumbent upon you to be ashamed of your complicity with a criminal enemy that has killed the children and women of Yemen for 12 years without relent.”
He renewed his affirmation that this crime will not pass without a deterrent response.
In the same context, the National Human Rights Authority strongly condemned the brutal crimes committed by the Saudi enemy’s aircraft through the direct and deliberate targeting of commercial shops at the central Taiz market at Mawiyah Junction, which resulted, according to an initial toll, in seven martyrs and 40 wounded, including five children.
In a statement, the authority stated that the targeting of the central Taiz market is fully constituted war crime and a flagrant violation of all international conventions, norms and international humanitarian law.
The authority condemned the continued criminal escalation against Saada Governorate through missile shelling that targeted Maran District, while the Saudi enemy’s aircraft carried out two airstrikes on Baqim District and two airstrikes on Maran and Saqin districts, before again targeting Maran District with three airstrikes, in a systematic and continuous targeting of civilian objects and populated areas.
It affirmed that the simultaneous and dual targeting of the Taiz market, crowded with civilians, and the villages and districts of Saada reflects the Saudi enemy’s persistence in committing fully constituted war crimes that are not subject to a statute of limitations.
The authority’s statement held the Saudi enemy coalition fully legally and criminally responsible for these crimes, calling on the United Nations, the international community and human rights organizations to condemn these crimes, work to hold those responsible accountable and ensure that they do not escape punishment.
The Human Rights Authority renewed its call for the lifting of the unjust and comprehensive siege imposed on the Yemeni people, urging free people around the world and free media outlets to assume their moral and humanitarian responsibilities in condemning these crimes and breaking the shameful silence over what the Yemeni people are being subjected to.
