The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process stated that the Housing Ministry of the Israeli occupation government has issued tenders for the construction of approximately 2,240 settlement units in the occupied West Bank at a time when the demolition and confiscation of Palestinian structures and the displacement of citizens continue.
The UN envoy clarified that the demolition and confiscation of Palestinian properties persist under the pretext of lacking building permits from the Zionist enemy entity's authorities—permits that he noted are nearly impossible for Palestinians to obtain.
He added that the enemy authorities have demolished or confiscated 536 Palestinian structures in the West Bank, resulting in the displacement of 736 Palestinians.
Regarding the Gaza Strip, the UN coordinator pointed out the continuation of daily airstrikes by the occupation forces in densely populated areas west of the so-called "Yellow Line."
These disclosures come amid ongoing settlement expansion, forced displacement, and restrictions imposed on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, coinciding with the continued fragility of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where a recent UN report confirmed the persistence of Zionist strikes despite the truce being in effect.
