Salim Al-Mughallis, Secretary of the Supreme Political Council, affirmed that the Saudi enemy was responsible for pushing military reinforcements toward escalation in Taiz in pursuit of its own interests in confronting the Yemeni people and their right to lift the blockade, with no regard for the suffering this would inflict on the people of Taiz or the threat it poses to their security and stability.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), Al-Mughallis said, “In confronting these military build-ups, the people of Taiz have stood alongside the Armed Forces in defending their areas, while exercising the utmost care to protect civilians, their security and property, and to shield them from the repercussions of the fighting.”

He commended everyone who took a responsible stance and refused to join the military mobilization or send their sons and brothers into battles serving foreign interests at the expense of Taiz and Yemen.

The Secretary of the Supreme Political Council called on “our people and brothers in Taiz to maintain this position,” while urging those who had been misled into joining the mobilization to lay down their arms, take advantage of the presidential amnesty, and return safely to their families and communities.

“The doors for returning remain open. The priority is to prevent further bloodshed and spare Taiz and its people from further suffering,” he added.
