The Ministry of Transport and Public Works condemned the Saudi enemy’s dangerous escalation through its mercenaries, including the closure of 14 major and vital roads in Taiz province, particularly the Al-Qasr Roundabout crossing and routes linking Taiz with neighboring governorates.

In a statement, the ministry said the closures affect key routes connecting Sanaa, Dhamar, Ibb, Al-Qa’idah, Al-Hawban and Al-Qasr Roundabout, as well as roads leading to Al-Rahedah, Al-Barh, Mokha, Al-Aqrood and Al-Maqatirah. It described the move as a declaration of war and a direct attack on the daily lifeline of thousands of residents and travelers.

The ministry rejected claims that the restrictions were imposed for military and safety reasons, calling them flimsy pretexts to tighten the siege and impose collective punishment by restricting civilian movement and access to essential services.

It warned that the measures would further strangle the local economy and deepen humanitarian hardship, describing the use of civilian roads and crossings as leverage as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

The ministry urged Taiz residents and travelers to remain vigilant against what it called the “Zionist-Saudi conspiracy,” accusing its proxies of seeking to sever Yemen’s geographical links and fracture its social fabric.

It said such measures would ultimately be overcome by the steadfastness and awareness of the Yemeni people.
