The Ministry of Transport and Public Works condemned the dangerous escalatory step taken by the Saudi enemy through its mercenaries, involving the closure of roads and the blockade of dozens of main and vital routes in Taiz Province, foremost among them the Al-Qasr Roundabout crossing and the roads linking the districts and neighboring provinces.
In a statement, the ministry explained that the mercenaries’ closure of 14 vital roads and arteries, including the main routes extending from (Sana’a – Dhamar – Ibb – Al-Qa’idah – Al-Hawban – Al-Qasr Roundabout), as well as the roads leading to Al-Rahida, Al-Barh, Mokha, Al-Aqroudh, and Al-Maqatirah, constitutes a declaration of war and a direct targeting of the lifeline of daily life for thousands of residents of the province and travelers passing through it.
The statement affirmed that the claims and allegations issued by the enemy’s media and its tools under the pretexts of military necessities and the preservation of safety are nothing more than flimsy excuses and an exposed cover to legitimize the tightening of the siege and impose a new form of collective punishment on citizens by restricting and prohibiting their movement and depriving them of access to essential services.
It pointed out that this arbitrary conduct and the military mobilization by the aggression and its tools reveal a premeditated intention to tighten the noose around the local economy and multiply the living and humanitarian suffering, noting that using roads and civilian crossings as tools of pressure and a policy of military strangulation constitutes a blatant violation of all international humanitarian conventions, norms, and laws.
The Ministry of Transport called on the people of Taiz Province and all travelers to remain vigilant and recognize the scale of the Zionist-Saudi conspiracy and its tools aimed at severing the geographical ties of Yemen and tearing apart its social fabric, affirming that all hostile practices and projects of domination and restriction will be broken by the steadfastness and awareness of the people of the province and the Yemeni people.
