Iranian Shura Council Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf affirmed, Sunday, that his country is fighting the battle and negotiating at the same time, based on a strategy of firmness and rationality, stressing that Tehran is present on the scene with all its strength and will confront the enemy with new surprises, and will never allow the enemies to achieve their illusions and schemes under the guidance of the Leader of the Revolution and the Islamic Republic.
In a speech during a parliamentary session, Qalibaf revealed that Washington has put forward proposals through mediators, despite what they have recently claimed otherwise in the media, calling on the Americans to realize that the era of wasting time and imposing unilateral demands has come to an end.
He explained that Iran’s position is clear and unequivocal, namely that “the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened until our seven conditions set out in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding are met.”
The Shura Council speaker also noted that the United States is seeking to manipulate Iran’s strategic calculations by disseminating conflicting reports, stressing that these efforts will remain nothing more than an illusion.
He added that the enemies clearly understand Tehran’s firmness, but they are still trying with all their might, to no avail.
Qalibaf stressed that Iran will use diplomatic tools to consolidate its military superiority and impose the rights of the Iranian people, reiterating the equation that “the victor in negotiations is the one who has prepared for war.” He affirmed that Tehran is neither eager nor afraid in this confrontation.
He pointed out that Iran and the Resistance Front are today reaching the peak of their strength, while the domestic front enjoys the highest levels of national cohesion and field cohesion.
He added that “despair and impotence have not affected the Zionist entity alone, but have also brought the Americans to a state of helplessness before the resistance of the Iranian people.”
As the third anniversary of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle approaches, Qalibaf described October 7 as “a fundamental turning point that divided the history of the region into before and after it,” after the steadfast Palestinian fighters transformed the illusion of Israeli security into permanent fear for the entity.
The Shura Council speaker concluded his remarks by stressing that “the Israeli entity has been exposed before world public opinion and suffered an irreparable defeat,” noting that “the pillars of the Zionist entity’s national security doctrine completely collapsed on October 7 and cannot be rebuilt through any operation or budget.”
These statements come amid mounting U.S. economic pressure on Iran, with broad economic sanctions imposed on various sectors, in addition to the ongoing blockade of Iranian ports and coastlines, following the U.S.-Israeli aggression against the country.
Recently, the two sides have exchanged proposals and responses regarding reaching a roadmap toward an agreement to end the war, through regional mediators, foremost among them Qatar.
