Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed, Sunday, that Iran’s response to any military confrontation will be stronger than before, stressing at the same time that the diplomatic path to ending the war remains open, and that there is no military solution or solution based on imposing further sanctions.

During a meeting with ambassadors and heads of foreign missions residing in Tehran, Araghchi explained that the new U.S. sanctions will yield no results, stressing that Washington has failed on both the battlefield and the diplomatic front.

He pointed out that the real way to overcome the crisis lies in giving priority to the logic of equal dialogue, away from policies of pressure and diktats.

The Iranian foreign minister added that the only solution to end this war is one based on negotiation, justice, fairness, and diplomatic dignity, stressing that the idea of isolating Iran globally has failed completely, and noting that Tehran today plays a pivotal and influential role on the global stage.

Regarding regional relations, Araghchi announced the beginning of a new course toward building trust between Iran and neighboring countries, affirming that good progress has been made in this regard, particularly in the Gulf region, and commending the regional position supporting these efforts.

He pointed out that the brothers in the Gulf region stand with Iran in this process, as a shared will has emerged to establish peace, stability, and security in the region.

As for relations with Europe, he explained that dialogue with European countries is characterized by complete frankness, expressing hope that these countries will reconsider their position toward Iran.

These statements come amid mounting U.S. economic pressure on Iran, with broad economic sanctions imposed on various sectors, in addition to the ongoing blockade of Iranian ports and coastlines, following the U.S.-Israeli aggression against the country.

Recently, the two sides have exchanged proposals and responses regarding reaching a roadmap toward an agreement to end the war, through regional mediators, foremost among them Qatar.
