Israeli experts have drafted proposals demanding extensive international inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities amid secret talks between Washington and Tehran over a potential nuclear agreement, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh reported.

In an article published on Substack on October 8, Hersh said American and Israeli sources had told him that confidential US-Iranian negotiations were underway. He reported that Israelis with experience in military and nuclear affairs had prepared a position paper titled “What an Air-Tight Nuclear Verification Regime in Iran Should Look Like” in response to the discussions.

The document’s mere existence and distribution among a select group of verification experts underscore "Israel’s" deep concern over the ongoing confidential negotiations, as it faces mounting international condemnation over its killing and abuse of Palestinian civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, Hersh noted.

According to the American journalist, the paper calls for an inspection entity that would go beyond standard international safeguards, requiring extensive access to Iran’s nuclear-related information and facilities, maintaining that "the regime must be built on the principle of absolute verification.”

The reason is that the normal verification procedures of the International Atomic Energy Agency that deal with declared nuclear material are no longer satisfactory to "Israel".
