The General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea strongly condemned the horrific crime committed by the Saudi enemy’s aircraft in targeting fishermen’s boats off the coast of Al-Kadha in Dhubab District, Taiz, which resulted in the martyrdom of eight fishermen and injuries to others.

In a statement, the Authority affirmed that this treacherous criminal attack against unarmed fishermen falls within the Saudi enemy’s dark record of horrific massacres committed against them since the start of the Saudi aggression against Yemen in March 2015.

The statement described this heinous crime as conclusive evidence of the criminal Saudi enemy’s confusion and its deliberate targeting of civilians seeking to earn a living and provide food for their families out at sea.

The Authority held the Saudi aggression fully accountable and responsible for this brutal crime against the fishermen and their families. It considered this criminal act a dangerous precedent that warns of further crimes aimed at depriving fishermen of their livelihoods and destroying fishing boats, which are an essential means of securing food for them and their families.

The Authority stressed that it fully reserves its right to pursue legal accountability and to prosecute the Saudi perpetrator and all those involved in these flagrant crimes and violations.

It called on all humanitarian organizations, the international community, and the United Nations to fulfill their humanitarian and moral responsibilities, take the initiative to condemn this heinous crime, and take serious action to protect fishermen and halt all ongoing crimes and attacks against them.
