Zionist enemy forces began demolishing buildings around Qalandiya Camp, north of occupied Al-Quds, on Wednesday morning, while assaulting homeowners and smashing a vehicle in the area.
The Quds Governorate reported that enemy bulldozers carried out demolition operations in the al-Wad area, near the al-Kassara area adjacent to the camp. Enemy forces also assaulted homeowners in the area and smashed a vehicle belonging to a Palestinian citizen.
The demolition operations come amid an escalation in the enemy’s measures against homes and land around Qalandiya Camp. On August 11, enemy forces raided the area and distributed demolition notices targeting a number of facilities and buildings, while maintaining a heavy presence of military vehicles in the al-Kassara area.
On October 11, the enemy authorities notified the al-Razzam family to evacuate a residential building in the village of Qalandiya, citing a court ruling, amid escalating measures targeting Palestinian homes and land in the area.
The demolitions and raids carried out in the area in August had also affected residential, commercial and agricultural facilities around the camp, causing material damage and the temporary displacement of families, according to UN reports.
The renewed demolition operations and assaults reflect the continued targeting of the Palestinian presence around Qalandiya Camp, amid ongoing measures affecting homes, facilities and land in the area.
